Veggie Lovers' Paradise: The Fat Radish, Savannah
A vegetable-heavy menu may not sound appealing to diners that are more carnivorous in nature, but Chef Nick Wilber, executive chef at The Fat Radish creates innovative and robust fare that is just as satisfying as any meaty dish. The flagship restaurant, located in New York has made its way down to Savannah with its second location on the corner or Congress and MLK BLVD. With a rustic-meets-modern aesthetic bursting with natural light, the design and atmosphere proves to be just as appealing as the menu. From dishes like the flavorful grilled red snapper to the surprisingly filling cucumber salad with fried oysters and creme fraiche, the restaurant’s produce-heavy entrees use seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced from farms in Georgia and South Carolina. The Fat Radish also has a full bar program that also feature non-alcoholic drinks and a sophisticated wine menu. The restaurant made its southern debut in June and is sure to be one of Downtown Savannah’s most celebrated spots.
